Mkomazi Carnivore Project receives fund from The Rufford Small Grants for Nature Conservation

This fund will help in running the project activities collecting data on lion demography and conservation education to the village bordering Mkomazi National Park, Tanzania
¨VHF transmitters attached to the lion , emit a pulsed radio signal allowing a researcher to physically locate and observe the lion by homing into the signal using a receiver and directional antenna. Then researcher records a location on a handled GPS, as a visual sighting data is collected on home range, habitat usage, animal behaviour, demographics and diet.
